Besides energy saving, controllability is the next highly expected feature of LED Lighting over Traditional Lighting. However, such a control aspect seems to be missing in daily applications. Since 2015, we've been developing & marketing Phase Dimmers* and related products to address LED dimming control

Driven by our project field experience, we developed a new type of Tunable White control using Phase Dimming & 0-10V technologies, which gives our Tunable White Controller (DZ1G300TUNE) & Dynamic Lighting Controllers (DZ2G300TUNE_TOGG / _PUSH). It's our goal to lower the technical and costs barriers for different Circadian Lighting or Commercial applications that desire Multi-Purpose Lighting.

* Our 450W / 220-240Vac Single Live-wire Operational Trailing-edge LED Phase Dimmers released to market includes DZ2G450DIAL & DZ1G450CAPS (2015), DZ3G450DIAL (2017), DZ4G450MULT (2018). In 2017, our DZ3G450DIAL was listed as a SORAA® Compatible dimmer. In Q2 2021, an Enhanced version of DZ3G450DIAL has been available.

In this Application Video Library, we shared a number of interesting topics on LED dimming or how our products can be applied in different scenarios.

DZ4G450MULT Product Launch & Multi-Way Phase Dimming Operations

Our Gen 4 Dimmer inherits our One-Touch Control Button design and is yet an upgraded version of our Gen 3 core (DZ3G450DIAL).  After the release of the DZ3G450DIAL in mid-2017, we've collected many useful comments and suggestions from our customers for new product development, such as, providing a New Type of Single Pole Phase Dimmer that delivers True Two-Way Dimming functionality, which is more commonly found with Smart Dimmers associated with a Mobile APP.

New Type of Single Pole Dimmer!
Not only can be used individually, the biggest differentiator of our DZ4G450MULT is that the Single Pole Dimmer can be connected together with other units to form a loop to Control the Same Set of Lamps at Multiple Locations. This is something that has not been found in the textbooks and is forbidden in the traditional Two-Way Wiring approach; see our earlier video of a comparison of Two-Way Dimming based on Two-Way Switching approach with our Multi-Way Dimmer for background info.

Wiring Advantages: No SPDT, No Travelers with Traditional Two-Way Wiring!
By adopting the DZ4G450MULT solution, a proprietary lighting control loop can be formed based on simple wiring that requires only Live-wire connections (to each Dimmer) and Low Voltage Data line connections (among the Dimmers). Compared to traditional Two-Way wiring, our wiring is much simpler and does not require specific switches, like SPDT switches, and hence, save some of the Connection Wires. As the same methodology can be applied to even more locations, the advantages of our Multi-Way Dimmers would be even more obvious when more locations are required to cover.

Scene-Setting for Easier Control
Furthermore, each DZ4G450MULT also has a Scene-Setting feature that allows quick selection of the Brightness Level for those who are required to adjust the lights on a daily basis, such as in Coffee Shops. Not only for Brightness Control, in this video, we used a Bridgelux COB that provides CCT in range of 1800 - 3000K to illustrate Cool White vs. Warm White CCT Selection and fine-tuning the brightness at the pre-set levels.

Modern Looking Plates & Advanced LED Dimming Technology
In this video, we've used the new Schneider AVATAR On series wall plates for our dimmer module installation, which gives a new look and feel of our dimmer offer. With Black and White Control Buttons as our Standard Offers, the combination represents a good balance of modern design wall plate and our state-of-the-art LED Dimming technology.
