Besides energy saving, controllability is the next highly expected feature of LED Lighting over Traditional Lighting. However, such a control aspect seems to be missing in daily applications. Since 2015, we've been developing & marketing Phase Dimmers* and related products to address LED dimming control

Driven by our project field experience, we developed a new type of Tunable White control using Phase Dimming & 0-10V technologies, which gives our Tunable White Controller (DZ1G300TUNE) & Dynamic Lighting Controllers (DZ2G300TUNE_TOGG / _PUSH). It's our goal to lower the technical and costs barriers for different Circadian Lighting or Commercial applications that desire Multi-Purpose Lighting.

Introduce Tunable White LED Track Lights built on 4-wire 3-circuit track

In this video, we introduced our tunable white LED track light solution that is realized by using standard 4-wire 3-circuit tracks (aka 3-phase tracks). Our solution has a user interface similar to regular dimmable track lights in a way that besides the dimmer switch, there is an additional color temperature switch for the user to change the color temperature of the track light from the switch plate.

After the demonstration with our 20W tunable color temperature range of 4000-1800K CRI 95 track light (Model # LTAC-4018-C18-24D-VP01_BK_BP), we highlighted the difference of our solution against warm dimming approach. As warm dimming is designed to mimic the lighting effects of incandescent light bulbs, the color tone of a warm dimming fixture actually changes along a predefined dimming curve. Therefore, users won’t be able to get a different color tone at the same intensity or the same color tone at different intensity levels. On the other hand, our tunable white solution allows users to change the color tone and intensity level freely without affecting the other.

In many practical installations, track lights mounted on the same track may actually be required to have a different color tone best match with particular display items. Therefore, each of our tunable track light has a bypass switch that allows a user to bypass the switch plate for color temperature adjustment. With this bypass option, users can adjust the intensity and color temperature values of the track lights on the same track from the switch plate, while customizing individual track light for a unique color tone. We used another two 20W tunable color temperature range of 6500-2700K CRI 90 tunable white track lights (Model # LTAC-6527-C18-24D-VP02_BKWT_BP & LTAC-6527-C18-24D-VP02_WT_BP) to demonstrate how the bypass option work.

Furthermore, the tunable track lights can be controlled either by a leading or trailing-edge phase-cut dimming signal. That means the tunable track lights can also be considered as an upgrade to an existing dimming system that already has leading-edge dimming control in place or that was originally designed for Halogen track light light-source. 

This solution is fully functional without a mobile application nor a DALI lighting control system. The installation only requires a 4-wire 3-circuit track, which is very useful for end-users, who need changing lighting effects frequently. They would now be able to do so easily.
